GO STARS! Hit that puck...and skate down that ice....and......oh, I don't know anything about hockey....

So, my good friend Alex calls me yesterday and invites me to go to a Stars game with him. Of course, I say a resounding "Yes!" I love going to sporting events of any type....I mean, come on......a place where I can yell at the top of my lungs, act like a kid, eat cotton candy and throw popcorn at the ref. (uhh....wwwwait a minute....how did that last one get in there??)

We park the car and walk up to the box office to get some tickets. We are standing in line for maybe about 5 minutes, when....all of a sudden....this girl comes right up to us and says,"Hey guys...I have two extra tickets....would you like them?" Alex and I look at each other in amazement and Alex begins taking his wallet out and she says,"No, no, no....they're free....seriously...just take them...have fun!" (you should have seen the look on the faces of the people in line behind us.....daggers I tell you...daggers....)

We skip happily out of line and "happy dance" our way to the entrance! (Alex now refers to me as his "Good Luck Charm"..hehe)

Self-portrait of me and Alex.....

Ok....so, as we're sitting there cheering on our Dallas Stars....shivering from the cold air emanating up from the ice.....smelling the popcorn................I can't help but keep looking over at this kid who hasn't taken his eyes off of his Nintendo DS the entire game. Come ON Kid! Your parents brought you to a Stars game! Are you that incredibly bored??? So, I had to snap a quick picture of it....haha.....He looks like he's in a trance, doesn't he???

Oh yeah...almost forgot...my friend works with the Stars and gave me some game pucks!! They still had ice on them! :)

*We ended up losing the game...* :(

BUT, we were still cheery and laughing when we left. As we're walking back to the car among the throngs of sports fans, I notice this group of 3 guys loudly (and obnoxiously) bantering back and forth. Usually, "banter" doesn't perk my ears up....but, theirs was chock-full of expletives. Well, now.....I just couldn't have that! There were families all around with little kids.....it was just so inappropriate.

I walk right up to them and shake my finger and say,"Boys, watch your mouth...there is no need for that kind of talk....seriously!" (it's official....I've turned into a 2nd grade teacher)

Well.....it worked....I think they may have been in shock at first...haha....

hahahha!! I'm actually a HUGE hockey fan and love my San Jose Sharks!

Man, you're soooo lucky about the tix! And to even be able to walk up to the box office and purchase tix? That's absolutely UNHEARD of here in San Jose!!! My hubbs and I have only been able to go to two games this season! Two games darnit!

If you ever need some tips on the rules or whatever, I'm your girl!

How fun!

(....oh....and GO SHARKS!!!) :)

My co-workers are huge Stars fans and would be completely jealous! They talk about hockey and I listen politely and nod. (I know nothing about hockey either) But since we live in the Dallas area as well, one of my boys has a Stars jersey. I have no idea where we got it. Certainly not from a game.

And if I were at that Hockey game, the picture of the kid with the game system could have easily been one of mine! Well, maybe not at hockey...

Ha, ha, ha, ha...that's awesome that you did that! I would pay to see those kids faces :) I've been tempted to do that, but I'm far to shy to walk up to strangers and speak my mind. I'm glad there are people like you out there keeping it real!!

Love the title of this post! That would definitely be me! I'm clueless when it comes to hockey--but it is fun to watch! I'm cheering you on for straightening those guys out--I would've paid to see their faces ^_^

And you look lovely as always!
